BSNL had launched Fiber To Home (FTTH) service which brings ultra high speed Internet connection right to your home. An exclusive optic fiber line is laid from the access-point to your home. You get a Static IP address and speeds from 1Mbps – 100 Mbps depending on the plan chosen. Also, unlike other technologies out in the market today, FTTH can provide the same upload speed as the download rate. So, if you have a 100 Mbps plan, you can bi-directionally transfer data at that rate.

These connections would be stable can provide enough throughput for all modern day bandwidth hungry activities like High-definition TV, 3-D TV, Internet access, Video on demand, IPTV and Online Gaming.
Okay, so we now have speeds upto 100 Mbps but it’s way too pricey for anyone. Maybe some corporations can afford it at ~ 84k.
